<Warren Wilson College Using CampusWEB Alumni>

Warren Wilson College located in Ashville, North Carolina, recently licensed the CampusWEB Alumni module. "It's been a catalyst for Alumni to interact with the college through the online directory" says J. Clarkson, Director of Annual Fund at Warren Wilson College. An online directory was a key element for the college's strategic plan to utilize web technology in their communications. The college chose the CampusWEB Alumni module because of the success they have had with CampusWEB for Students and Faculty and its' built-in integration with their CAMPUS information system. The program was first introduced to a group of alumni in October at homecoming. Several computers were set up and attending alumni were given their ID and PIN numbers. Said Mary Craig, Director of Research, "It was a big hit!" "They all crowded around the computers to look up their own information and to find other classmates" "The online alumni directory has been a big success". After the introduction at homecoming, account ID's with PIN's and connection instructions were mailed to all 5,300 alumni on their database. Since then, they have had over 2,500 log in averaging about 20 per day. "The response had been phenomenal" says John Hettrick, Director Alumni Relations, "We are very happy with the program." The system has generated a lot of excitement and positive comments from their alumni. They are now getting calls from alumni saying "I am not lost. Here's my information and can I get my Campusweb PIN now" Says Ms. Craig, "This has been a great resource for finding missing alumni" We're getting calls from people saying that while looking up their classmates they found names without information and here's how to contact them". The CampusWEB Alumni module has also helped their phonathon programs. They now have more current information about their alumni and they encourage them to use the web site as a resource when speaking with them. It has helped them keep their data up to date and accurate. "It was important that the College be the source of information that the Alumni would want to have" said Mr. Clarkson.
